These trainings are required to becoming a Phoneline, Mentor, Recovery Coach or other volunteer. There are continued training opportunities available to you depending on what level of service you desire. Training for facilitating public/institutional workshops may be available down the road.
Below are trainings, most becoming available to you prior to June 1st, subject to changing titles and components and Board approval, other dates to be announced next week. Binders containing necessary materials will be provided.
Basic Training I:
We are “Peer” volunteers with integrity, not professionals. Staying on our side of the street.
Introduction to UHRC’s “Recovery Connect” and “Bridges to Recovery” programs, applications and forms completed and signed, 24/7 helpline, ethics and confidentiality, education and advocacy.
Basic Training II:
How it works. The nuts and bolts.
Review Basic Training I, Recovery Oriented System of Care, (ROSC), Cultural Competency, and intro to mentorship/phone support.
The ultimate weapon, “Each one Teach one”
Peer-to-peer mentorship principles, boundaries, responsibilities, limitations.
The guiding light into a world of life-long recovery.
Annually offered 3 to 5 day training.
