Expertise on mental health conditions can come from all angles and experiences. You don’t need to have a Ph.D. for your experiences to give you expertise around a condition. Many of us have lived-in experiences or have been caretakers and supporters, and each of these experiences has valid insight to share.
In this episode, The Expert is In: Part 1, we listen in as NAMI ambassadors Brittany McGowan and Tina Cruickshank discuss learning the difference between “feeling depressed” and depression, Tina’s mental health journey with multiple diagnoses, and the stigma surrounding mental illness.
